Backstory: Who is CBDistillery?
As with so many other CBD companies, CBDistillery’s story starts in Colorado. Founded in 2016, the founders of CBDistillery found that the exploding CBD market was saturated with poor quality and overpriced products. Thinking they could rectify this, they set out to build a vertically-integrated system that could provide affordable prices without sacrificing quality.
Named the best value of any CBD brand by Mashable, CBDistillery has grown into one of the largest CBD brands in the country. But do they actually live up to the hype? We investigate.
Sourcing: Everything We Know About CBDistillery’s Farming Practices
Summary: CBDistillery uses US-grown hemp from farms that utilize organic farming practices, and they are certified by the US Hemp Authority.
The first positive sign about CBDistillery is that they are certified by the US Hemp Authority, a coveted designation which means they meet strict requirements on how their hemp is farmed and how their CBD is processed and manufactured. They’re also a member of the US Hemp Roundtable, a trade group which promotes the interests of hemp farmers.
So, what do we know about their farming practices? Though they aren’t certified organic, CBDistillery claims that their hemp farms do use organic farming practices, and all of their farms are located in the US. They also use non-GMO seeds, and a meticulous seed-to-shelf tracking system.
We like that their hemp is US-grown and the fact that they use organic farming practices, and their US Hemp Authority Certification attests to the quality of their practices as well, so they’ve earned a good sourcing score.

Extraction: Everything We Know About How CBDistillery Extracts Their CBD
Summary: CBDistillery’s facilities have the prized ISO 9001 quality certification, and they use both ethanol and C02 extraction to produce their products.
CBDistillery uses two different extraction methods: an ethanol extraction method for their CBD isolate products, and supercritical C02 extraction for their full-spectrum products. These are the two extraction methods that are generally considered the most reliable and effective in isolating cannabinoids/terpenes and removing toxins and unwanted compounds.
Another thing worth noting is that CBDistillery’s manufacturing facilities have a coveted ISO 9001 certification, which is a strict, internationally-recognized quality management system that few CBD manufacturers have obtained. In short, that means you can trust their manufacturing process to be reliable, accurate, and safe. So, they’ll get top marks for extraction.
Extraction Score: 9.5/10
Lab-Testing: Everything We Know About How CBDistilleryTests Their Products
Summary: All of CBDistillery’s products are lab-tested by an independent third-party lab, though some of the COA’s posted on their site are outdated.
All of CBDistillery’s products are lab-tested by an independent third-party lab, predominantly ProVerde Laboratories. They also post frequent Certificates of Analysis (COA) for their products, which are available on their product pages. However, we checked, and some of the COAs were over a year old.
We’re confident in their manufacturing and extraction processes, but the fact that some of their most recent COAs are over a year old means we can’t be 100% certain of the consistency of their quality, so their lab-testing score will be dinged a little.

CBDistillery is one of the best-known vertically-integrated CBD manufacturers in the US, they have top manufacturing certifications which affirm their commitment to quality, and an extensive product line that covers everything from oils and softgels to topicals.
They also have some of the best price points in the business: for example, 1000mg of full-spectrum CBD for $70 is a pretty good deal, and many brands would charge $100 or higher for that potency.
The only knocks on CBDistillery is that they’re not certified organic and they don’t update their COAs as frequently as we would like. But if you’re looking for a brand with farming, processing, and manufacturing processes that you can trust to be reliable, CBDistillery is a good choice.
